An anthology of science-fiction stories written by Brian Woodruff and Ian Morgenheim, The Wandering World and Other Stories explores mind-bending, profound, and often humorous ideas about the future and alternate realities.
The cover illustration is a reference to the main story of the book from which the name is derived, The Wandering World. That story is a mind-bending play on the concept of time travel, in which the fabric of time and space is severed to allow for the protagonist to arrive at a distant planet far from the reaches of civilization.
I created chapter illustrations, each image being an interpretation of a key element from that story. I wanted them to be cryptic to add to the sense of mystery that permeates the entire book.
The book itself was broken up into 6 section, with each section relating to a specific time and place in the universe. The stories and sections that the reader hadn’t gotten to yet were encoded to entice the reader to keep going forward to reveal more of the universe.
